About Occipital Studios

Occipital pronunciation: oc·cipi·tal (äk sip'it'l)

..can't pronounce it? No, neither can we. Don't worry about it though, at Occipital we prefer it if we can keep things on a first name basis with our clients anyway.

Ok, so we messed up when it came to picking a name that people could actually pronounce, but luckily we're much better at what we actually do - finding creative and innovative solutions and presenting them in a clean and beautiful end result. Occipital founders Gavin Dewhirst and Chris Wharton have between them over 18 years experience creating products for the web and doing just that.

So why Occipital then? It's the part of the brain that makes sense of of the visual information it receives and we thought that was apt. It's easy to have the beautiful front end with not much going on behind it, or to get an intelligent system working well that's not too great to look at. We focus on finding the best way to bring those two things together in one easy to use package ...just don't ask us to give it a name.
